BJ Parker Memorial Returns to Talladega Short Track with the Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series
Woodruff, South Carolina (November 7, 2024) - Officials of the Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series are honored to announce the return of the BJ Parker Memorial in 2025 at Talladega Short Track. Parker founded the Southern All Star Racing Series and was the promoter at Birmingham International Raceway in addition to many other racing endeavors in the south.
Parker passed away in 2011 and left a lasting legacy of kindness and mentorship in the racing industry. Parker influenced many throughout his lifetime including Southern Thunder General Manager Kelley Carlton and Co-owner Travis Scott along with TST Promoter Adam Stewart.
“It really is sort of a full circle moment. We are working with Adam on a few races but I felt it was important that we make sure one of them was the BJ Parker Memorial. I appreciate that BJ’s daughter Jenny Parker Phillips gave us her blessing to do the event. BJ just meant so much to us all. We actually took the name of the series from one that he ran in the early 2000s.” Carlton commented.
The $7542 to win / 42 lap event is set for June 28, 2025. The full 2025 Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series working schedule will be released during the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show in December.
