Smoky Mountain Speedway up next for Southern Thunder; Lavonia Speedway postponed

Woodruff, S.C. (August 6th, 2025) – The Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series returns to the Volunteer State on Saturday, August 16th, for a showdown in the Smoky Mountains. Headlined by a $5,000-to-win feature, Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) will host the tour for its 11th event of the 2025 season.

The $5,000-to-win show at Lavonia (Ga.) Speedway, scheduled for Friday, August 15th, has been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date. Series and track officials are actively working to find a date later in the fall.

Saturday, August 16th:

• Pit Gates & Tier Parking Open at 3PM
• Grandstand Gates Open at 4PM
• Drivers Meeting at 6:30PM
• Hot Laps at 7PM
• $5,000-to-win show for Southern Thunder™ Super Late Models–Hot Laps, Time Trials, Last Chance Races, 40-Lap Feature.

Admission Details:

• Grandstands: $25 for adults; kids 11 and under FREE
• Tier Parking: $35 for adults; kids 11 and under FREE
• Pit Admission: $35 for adults; kids 11 and under FREE

Joining the Southern Thunder™ Super Dirt Series on the undercard will be… Sportsman Late Models ($800), Street Stocks ($700), Front Wheel Drive ($500), and Kids Juice Box.
