Southern Thunder heads to Waycross Motor Speedway for Showdown at the Swamp

Graniteville, S.C. (1/9/25) — The Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series will head to Waycross (Ga.) Motor Speedway on Saturday, January 17, for a non-points event. The Showdown at the Swamp pays $7,500 to the winner. More information about the event can be found below.

Saturday, January 17:

• Pit Gates Open at 12PM
• Grandstand Gates Open at 2PM
• Drivers Meeting at 2:30PM
• Hot Laps at 3PM
• $7,500-to-win show for Southern Thunder™ Super Late Models–Hot Laps, Time Trials, B-Mains, 40-Lap Feature.

Admission Details:

• Pit Pass - $40 (Kids 12 & under FREE)
• General admission - $25 (Kids 12 & under FREE)

Joining the Southern Thunder™ Super Dirt Series on the undercard will be… Crown Vics and Super Streets.

Purses for STSDS:

• Saturday, January 17: 1. $7,500, 2. $3,500, 3. $2,000, 4. $1,600, 5. $1,400, 6. $1,200, 7. $1,000, 8. $900, 9. $800, 10. $750, 11. $700, 12. $650, 13-24. $600.

Southern Clash Bonus:

• Southern Clash Late Model drivers can declare as a Clash driver and be eligible for bonuses, courtesy of MD Towing. The highest-finishing declared Clash driver will receive a $500 bonus, with the second-highest finisher earning $250. Southern Clash drivers must be compliant with their rules however they MUST RUN A ROOF.

Super Late Model Tire Rule:

• LF: Open
• LR and RF: Hoosier NLMT 2 or 3 / American Racer Pro 3 or SD48
• RR: Hoosier NLMT 3 or 4 / American Racer Pro 3 or 4
  Southern Clash racers can run Hoosier Crate 21/55
